More pets lose their lives each year from abandonment or euthanasia, due to behavior problems, than from infectious diseases, trauma, or poisoning.
This doesn't have to happen!
Our organization was formed in 1992 out of a concern for the increasing number of dogs being surrendered to local shelters with "fixable" behavior problems. We felt that with our knowledge, and that of our instructors, we could teach pet owners how to deal with and control common problems in pets.
We offer classes for all dogs; young, old and in between. Classes include puppy training, family dog training, begining agility and competition agility. We also offer a variety of specialty classes including trick classes, rally obedience and competition obedience prep work.
Our classes are taught by instructors that have a great deal of knowledge in many dog-related areas. Besides being involved in obedience competitions, many compete in herding trials, conformation, agility trials, therapy dog work, breeding and rescue. Many instructors are members of local dog training clubs, breed clubs and many have also been endorsed by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and/or Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Our methods are very humane. We use "motivational" methods which are primarily treat and praise oriented. We never use chain or prong collars in our classes.
